Job Description
We are seeking a Registered Manager who will be responsible for implementing and
maintaining regulated activities as laid down in the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and
the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety Regulations 2010 as regulated by OFSTED.
Additionally, for the purpose of our homes that are not registered with Ofsted, and / or,
applying for registration, the post holder is expected to confidently guide the home through
its Ofsted Registration process in a timely fashion.The position also requires the post
holder to successfully register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager of the specific
home - this is a pre-requisite of the role.

REPORT TO: Company Director and other responsible individuals.

LIAISE WITH: Deputy Managers, Team Leaders, and all residential staff, in addition to
external stakeholders.

Ofsted Registered Manager Role Responsibilities :

To manage the day to day running of the childrens home and ensure that it meets the
expectations and standards as set out in its Statement of Purpose.
To ensure that the home is consistently meeting standards set by Ofsted and to ensure
that the home is continuously operating within the Ofsted Registration criteria.
To confidently lead the home through any external and internal inspection and audits /
inspections.
To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and ensure that the home remains
fully compliant with all legislation, in particular, that set out in the Childrens Homes
Regulations 2015, including the Quality Standards.
To establish and maintain a competent, motivated, and confident staff team and to offer
leadership, managerial direction, guidance, and support to staff at all levels.
To ensure that the companies policies and procedures are adhered to and that
resources are managed effectively.
To develop systems for the efficient administration of the home and to ensure that the
fabric of the home, equipment, appliances, and grounds are maintained to the highest
order in accordance with Health and Safety requirements.
To be the responsible person in managing child protection concerns and complaints. To
liaise with Local Authorities, School, Health, and other professionals to achieve best
outcomes for young people.
To actively promote the homes equal opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice
policies.

Ofsted Registered Manager Ideal Candidate must:

Be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Childrens Home legislation and
inspection requirements for Ofsted and a thorough knowledge of child protection/
safeguarding procedures and protocols.
Have a recognised social work qualification ie QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and
Management (Children and Young People) and QCF Level 3 Diploma in Children and
Young People Workforce or equivalent.
Have a minimum of 2 years previous experience within the last 5 years in a position
relevant to the residential care of children and, for at least 1 year, requiring the
supervision and management of staff working in a care role.
Be committed to making a real difference to the lives of the young people in our care
and to working to a high standard of professional practice with a nonjudgmental
and get up and go positive attitude taking into account the views of the
young peoples views, wishes and feelings.
A full UK driving license is essential for this role.
