Legal Assistant - Description

If you are looking to gain experience for a career in the Legal sector this is a great opportunity to learn your skill in the workplace.

You will learn all aspects of legal administrative work and gain experience working in several different areas of the law.

As a Trainee Legal Assistant, you will be a part of the team that supports the business overall which means you could be working in any of the departments at any given time - covering absences, holidays or helping out a heavy workload.

The work will involve assisting with various duties including audio typing, photocopying, arranging meetings, liaising with clients and other staff, producing bundles for court and a variety of other admin roles as well as assisting with reception and switchboard.

Initially based in our Guildford office, but you must be able to travel to our other offices.

Legal Assistant - Key Responsibilities
secretarial support including using a digital dictation system to produce correspondence and other documentation
Assistance with setting up new client/admin files, maintenance and closure of files.
Liaison with clients and third parties by telephone or in-person ensuring delivery of exceptional client service
Assisting with reception and switchboard.

Legal Assistant - Requirements
attention to detail
Accurate typing ability
Audio typing experience (desirable but not essential)
Good written and oral skills including accurate punctuation and grammar.
Good communication skills
Good organisation skills
IT skills in Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook/ Digital Audio software
